Wine Blogger vs. Wine Blogger – A Competition!

June 9, 2011 The Press No Comments

Here at ALP, we don’t review wines. Partially because we don’t want to, but also, we don’t know how. We like to think we know a good wine when we taste one, but whether that is sun baked leather or fresh truffles lurking under a surface of black cherries and red fruit, we have no clue.

Thankfully, other people do know how to review wine. So we thought, “why don’t we let them tell us what to drink for a change?” So now is your chance. Think you have a wine under $20 that is easy enough to find (thanks for suggesting a wine that was super hard to find Steve!) that will impress our friends and us?  Think you have an elevated palate? Then we invite you to give it a go and test your palate against other fellow bloggers.

Send your submissions to:

Wine Blogger Competition at: alongpour @ gmail {dot} com

Later this month, our friends and us will taste through your selections. Ultimately, I will pick the winning wine from the group. The winner will get a gift sent from us (more on that at a later date).

QUALIFICATIONS

1. You must currently write a wine blog

2. You must do wine reviews on a semi-regular basis on said wine blog

3. You must have no financial association with the wine suggested

4. The wine must be less than $20

5. The wine must be easy enough to find

6. It can be from anywhere in the World

10. Entries will be capped at six participants total on first come first served basis

While a date to try all of these wines has not been set, you only have one week from today to join the party. So that’s it, get to work!

Bonny Doon: Day of the Doon IX {Photo Essay}

We have grown rather accustomed to long trips for short stays, so much so that a 500 mile weekend is not such a big deal anymore. There are a lot of events we are invited to and we can only attend a few of them. But when Randall Graham asks you to attend, you attend. […]

Secret Project {the reveal}

A few weeks ago I posted the “Secret Project” with some shots of  a friend’s new winery taking shape. At the time, the space was still in a raw state, holes in the ground, bare walls, cut concrete. In terms of photographing a new winery, one might say there was not much to see, no […]
